One of our most treasured new construction projects was situated on a very narrow site with spectacular panoramic ocean views!  From start to finish-- a 7 year span because of the complexity of the design and the introduction of brand new technology— beyond the skill of building departments and even some of the consultants—including us!  And the ultimate goal—obtaining platinum LEED status! We+ remain so grateful to our amazing clients, whom we all adore—for taking us on this journey with them!

Our role began with the planning of each of the 3 floors—how to meet our client’s functional needs, yet still have each floor feel spacious and each individual room— fabulous. Many rounds to arrive at the perfect solution for both of our clients. Then we delved into designing walls and ceilings, millwork and interior finishes.  The stringent requirements for Platinum LEED certification was a major underlying force in our selection of the ECO-Home’s interior finishes, decorative lighting, and appliances. In addition to our scope for the interior architecture, we were asked to provide the full interior design.  Our proposal of each individual, sometimes custom piece of furniture, the lighting, rugs, window treatment, the beautiful artwork, accessories and bed linens— what an immense privilege to select what would best compliment their home!  Our challenge and vision-- create an elegant and classic California coastal craftsman design aesthetic for the home’s interior, without compromising the project’s primary mission of using only products from natural, recycled, or sustainable materials. We were thrilled to learn the home achieved the top honor of the Platinum LEED award for the home! Our clients returned to seek our help in 2 additional vacation homes.  We are so incredibly grateful and honored for their support—even more so-- their friendship.
